I have a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I’ve worked in the mental health field since 1989.
I would describe my approach to therapy as integrative and humanistic. Some of the main forms of therapy I use include Humanistic, Existential, Post-Jungian and Neo-Jungian, Person Centered, Reality Therapy, Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive.
I see therapy as providing three main benefits:
- Better understand how you got where you are, and why you are the way you are.
- Heal from emotional and psychological injuries and solve problems that prevent you from being a happier person.
- Gain greater clarity about what might make you happier and start working toward realizing your full potential.
Further benefits of therapy:
Speaking thoughts and feelings that would otherwise remain remain in your own mind helps you see them more clearly and then able to devise a better strategy to deal with what’s going on inside you.
Regularly giving quality attention to your inner life in a therapeutic setting is very healthy for your personal development. As is doing it in a non-judgmental space where someone with clinical training and experience is working constructively with you.
Through the therapeutic process you become increasingly self-aware and more accepting of everything going inside you. You become more open to a bigger reality. You develop a closer relationship to the unconscious aspects of your experience so that they don’t control you.
I only provide individual therapy for adults. I do not see minors. I do not provide couples or family therapy.
